Channing Tatum Exits Gambit for Young Han Solo Spinoff

It seems playing Gambit is no longer in the cards for Channing Tatum. But 20th Century Fox's loss is Disney's gain as the actor will instead be reuniting with 21 Jump Street helmers Christopher Miller and Phil Lord on their young Han Solo film. Read on for the details on this unexpected turn of events.

Tatum practicing a bit of David Blaine Street Magic as Gambit
As recently as the day before today Channing Tatum had been expected to produce and star in 20th Century Fox's X-Men spinoff titled Gambit. Director Rupert Wyatt was even reviewing screentests for the film's female lead, Lea Seydoux -- one of the naked women from Blue is the Warmest Color; also one of the practically naked women in the soon to be released SPECTRE -- when the unthinkable happened.

Fun Fact: Seydoux means nudist in French
Citing creative differences and a bad case of the "Ragin' Cajuns", Tatum has exited the project. It is unclear whether he will remain on board as a producer.

My cousin who works in The Big Easy has provided us with a spicy gumbo scoop you won't find anywhere else. Apparently Tatum is trading his deck of playing cards for a sabacc deck as he has just signed on to play young Han Solo in Christopher Miller and Phil Lord's Star Wars spinoff film.

No word on whether the trio's other 21 and 22 Jump Street collaborator Jonah Hill is also on-board, though we can definitely see him playing a young Chewbacca easily.

It's not a complete loss for 20th Century Fox. My cousin reports the studio's already deep into negotiations with Shia LaBeouf (fresh from a fight with his girlfriend in Germany) to replace Tatum as Gambit. To which we can only say SIMPLEMENT FAIS-LE!

As always stay tuned to FSW for further developments on this and all other stories direct from the Mystery Box.
