Late-breaking! DICE's Star Wars Battlefront Canceled!

Just received a series of 911 beeps from my cousin, hardcore gamer Chad Warden. After calling him back, he revealed that a friend of his from the popular Neogaf messageboards told him that EA's upcoming Star Wars Battlefront has been canceled.

Apparently, a troll somehow managed to alert higher ups at EA that the 10-year old Battlefront 2 has more features than its series reboot, which boasts plenty of DLC for sale but hardly any gameplay features and modes with the basic game.

The company immediately postponed work on Battlefront. However, after researching the matter further, EA decided to kill the project altogether once Swedish developer DICE admitted that such an upgrade via downgrade would result in fewer opportunities to sell DLC, yet greater enjoyment for videogame players everywhere. Hashtag priorities amirite?!

But don't just take our word for it, check out the official EA Star Wars website for more on this very sad news.
