The bad seeds gone good just got a little badder! Disney's Descendants has added former teen pop sensation Aaron Carter to its mix of second generation villains. But whose son will the "Ooh Wee" performer be playing? Let's just say his dad's really adept at manipulating the complexities of intergalactic politics in order to obfuscate the truth. His hoodie game is also super on point! After the jump, we reveal the details behind this electrifying and completely inspired piece of casting news. Ooh Wee!

It's Aaron's Party! |
Platinum-selling artist Aaron Carter
has signed on to appear as Shiv Palpatine, the clone son of the Galactic
Emperor from Star Wars, in Disney's Descendants.
For those of you who don't read Disney
Channel Magazine (How rude!?), Descendants follows the offspring of some of the
most iconic villains in Disney history: Cruella De Vil (Carlos), Maleficent
(Mal), the Evil Queen (Evie), Jafar (Jay), and the Emperor (Shiv). Descendants
is poised to become the next big Disney IP among the tween set. The
entire universe kicks off with a prequel novel that sets the stage for the
original movie, which arrives during the summer.

My cuz with some basic girl who is clearly not Hilary Duff. |
The Isle of the Lost by best-selling
author and second-cousin of mine Melissa de la Cruz details how the bad seeds
were banished from the U.K.A. (United Kingdom of Auradon) 20 years ago,
stripped of their powers, and placed on an island surrounded by a force field.
SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER
ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!
According to our advance copy (thanks,
cuz!), Mal discovers the key to escaping lies in The Dragon's Eye, located in a
forbidden fortress on the far side of the island. In their quest for freedom,
the four villainous offspring will have to band together in order to succeed.
But when a growing rift between them threatens to derail their efforts… a smooth-talking
fifth descendant arrives just in time.

Shiv can bob and weave... just like Sheev! |
Master of diplomacy, Shiv Palpatine,
helps the gang see stank eye to stank eye, and come to mutually agreeable
terms. Soon after, the descendants manage to free themselves of the island,
learning a valuable lesson about teamwork in the process. Their collaborative efforts
are rewarded with a chance for redemption.

King and Queen Goody Two Shoes at some kid's graduation. |
The second generation royals, King Adam
and Queen Belle, extend their trouble making peers an invitation to come live
in their idyllic kingdom of Auradon. The descendants are even granted
permission to attend prep school with the children of classic Disney heroes.
But let's focus on Aaron Carter's Shiv.
The clone wears an iconic House Palpatine hoodie, and fancies himself a
collector of dark side artifacts. Shiv also suffers from a Jekyll and Hyde
condition, triggered by his hood. When the dark snuggie-like fabric covers his
head, Shiv is transformed into a wrinkled and pruny aged Sith prone to giving
himself a face full of static electricity. Remove the hood, however, and the
self-dubbed "Palpa-TEEN" is back, all smiles and boyish charm.
Dude’s totes a Shiv off the old
block nawmean?! Keeps it on fleek when he needs, then gets turnt up fresh to
def if people come at him son Ooh Wee!

A swole Shiv reveals dark side scripture adorning his physique. |
Shiv and his newfound friends' story draws many parallels to that of Carter's real-life journey. The former teen pop
sensation has had more than his share of ups and downs. He's battled bad
romances, chemical dependencies, and a prolonged legal battle with his own
personal Jabba, Lou Perlman. The turmoil seems to be behind Carter now, as he re-launches
his career once more – with Disney no less!
|
Neh Lou-a no botha. |
Upon seeing a screener of Descendants,
it's clear to us the former pre-teen idol is back on track to super stardom. He's nothing short of mesmerizing as Shiv. Carter steals every scene he's in, echoing the performance of Ian McDiarmid's Sheev throughout the Star wars saga. Like father, like son, indeed!
|
"I taught me well." |
At one point in the Disney Original movie, Shiv
successfully navigates a love triangle between himself, Mal, and Evie. We can
only assume he tapped into his real-life experience, as Carter infamously
two-timed Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan at the height of his popularity.
|
The Phantom Menace of Romance. |
Carter is also very comfortable playing
a character living with four high-strung dysfunctional villains. That’s because
he faced the exact same conditions during the short-lived E! reality
show House of Carters, where he shared a roof with four of his siblings,
including Nick (of Backstreet Boys fame.)
|
"My body is my temple of doom." |
Despite being 27 years old, Carter has
kept up with high school slang, and re-trained his body to survive on a steady
diet of fast food and little to no exercise.
Bae be like 16 and she helps me
stay on point.
|
Carter channeling The Force & LMFAO. |
Already on an upswing, Carter has been spotted
around town with former flame Lindsey Lohan. Word has it she may have recently
auditioned to play a certain force-sensitive, fire-crotched character from the
Expanded Universe.
Carter’s redemption would seem to be
upon us. Faking Star Wars can’t wait to see him breathe life into Shiv
“Palpa-TEEN.” In fact, we’ve had “Aaron's Party (Come Get It)” on repeat all
week in support of his latest endeavor. Mom Mothma doesn’t get it. But her descendants
certainly do. “Ooh Wee”
|
Michael gets it, too. |
You can pick up The Isle of the Lost
wherever books are sold, and please catch Disney’s original movie Descendants when
it airs this summer.
Shoutout to Disney for the sweet House
Palpatine hoodies. Good looking out!
