In celebration of the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, NetherRealm Studios has chosen Kylo Ren as a DLC bonus character to represent the Galaxy Far, Far Away in Mortal Kombat X.
Little is known about his playing style at this point but more will be revealed at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim.
When NetherRealm contacted LucasFilm to get the rights to use a character in the upcoming game, they originally wanted to use the bounty hunter, Boba Fett but Kathleen Kennedy thought it would be excellent opportunity to publicize their new villain.
Kylo's "fatality" move includes him taking the cross guard off of his lightsaber, repeatedly stabbing his opponent, then after a blast of Force lightning, cuts his opponent in half with his re-attached lightsaber, Obi-Wan-vs-Darth-Maul-style.
I have to say, this gets me pumped for what he may do in The Force Awakens!
Mortal Kombat X is due to come out on April 14, but Kylo will not be available for download until this fall.
Wow MKX is just turning into a fan's crazy dream. I think the next spin off game should just be movie franchise characters. Put Ashe and Wesley Snipes as Blade.
